We undertook the systems analysis and design, programming, and implementation of an online interactive inter-branch accounting and reconciliation system on the Bank’s microcomputers. In addition, we carried out a review of the Bank’s operations and made recommendations on the strategy for the introduction of information technology. We then went on to evaluate proposals from tenders for the supply of suitable hardware, software, and peripheral equipmen,t and to provide project management for the implementation process.
Consultant reviewed the administrative, financial, and accounting systems and procedures of the Bank, including mortgage operations, savings and deposits, funds management, administrative procedures, management control process, accounting and reporting system, and recommended improvements in accounting and reporting at branch, area, and head office levels.
We assisted this merchant bank in installing a new computer and developing and implementing the necessary banking systems. The work involved helping the Bank to manage all aspects of the task of computerisation, including equipment procurement and installation, site and environment preparation, staff recruitment and training, operation supervision, and application systems development, comprising programming, testing, parallel running, and implementation. We also developed a suite of microcomputer-based systems for use in the bank’s area offices.
Following a meeting with one of the promoters on 16th May 2019 and further discussion with the promoters’ advisor on 21st May 2019, the direction was outlined and a mandate was established to: Conduct a feasibility study for establishing a new reinsurance company in Nigeria,
1) with an appropriate corporate structure and operating direction;
2) Prepare the necessary study reports and documentation for registration under the Companies and Allied Matters Act 1990, as amended and the Insurance Act 2003 as amended; and
3) Assist the company in establishing a start-up organisation with relevant personnel and operational procedural guidelines.
